The count of cases of Covid-19 in Greene County was at 123 as of Friday, Oct. 2, reported Greene County public health director Becky Wolf. Of those individuals, 66 have recovered (28 days have past since onset of illness).
There have been 33 new cases in the past 14 days, with eight in the past three days. More than half of those who have had Covid in the county had no pre-existing condition putting them at higher risk for the illness.
“At this rate of increased cases, we can expect our case number to double in less than five week. That’s nearly 250 cases,” Wolf said. “With each new case, additional friends, families and co-workers are exposed and become ill, too. They can then expose even others.”
There have been no deaths from Covid-19 in the county.
Wolf reminds the public to wear mask and social distance at all times when near people who aren’t in their household. “Please do you part to protect everyone,” she said.
